Ksenia Maltseva, St. Petersburg: .... it was very very valuable for me to have your advice on the sound production. As I remember we spent time looking at the right arm techniques, sound production and bow distribution. It was really beneficial to me to spend time on working with sound production playing chords of different variety, and also your comment to have 'more air' in the contact of the bow with the string - not to overpower it but let it vibrate in order to project the sound further and have more sustained power and clarity of the sound. It was also great to work on both of my hands and learn how to look at the technical aspect in a different more profound and in-depth way in order to understand my own strengths and limitations. I would like to thank you once again for your help and the invaluable advice you have given me during our lesson.

On Zoltan by Laszlo Varga / dean of Franz Liszt Academy of Music ; City of Miskolc department

.....Zoltan Takacs gave his all when he gave his lectures in Miskolc (Hungary) in November 2015. When he was teaching he forgot about the outside world for the only thing that mattered in the moment: his pupils. Time also became irrelevant when with his ceaseless patience explained to the"kids", the pupils, how to use their bows in full length to achieve complete and deeply rich soundscapes and dynamics. Each and every arm movement, the ones that pre-meditate the 'big' movements was given its ample time, just as the correct rhythms and characters were given theirs. And all the while he kept on illustrating what he taught with his own playing of his violin. Zoltan Takacs' openness gave a fantastic impetus to his young musician disciplines; with his love and encouragement he quickly established trust - the trust that gives the master and his pupils the wings of inspiration...

At the age of 25 I was close to the end of my career. The wrong playing technique had totally locked me up physically.I then asked my friend and chamber music partner Zoltan Takacs for help.  I knew he was not only a brilliant violinist but also an experienced pedagogue.  Zoltan helped me to get results fast. I was struck by the way he approached my problem.  He helped me to get a job at the Royal Stockholm Opera and later as a Deputy Director of the viola section at the Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra. I have worked as a Solo alto violinist with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Gothenburg Opera,  the Stockholm Royal Opera, the Norrkoping Symphony Orchestra and  the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra Janne Kannas / viola

In Zoltan's safe hands you are prepared for professional studies. It was interesting to study under the direction of a world-class violinist who, in addition to didactic skills and great practical experience, inspired confidence in the student in a fair and passionate way. Zoltan was genuinely interested in the progress of students, with virtuoso examples for practice. My first experience of an orchestra was under his direction. Zoltan broadened my understanding of the fiddle, as well as a musician, and he taught my left hand fingers to fly. My former student, Zoltán Takács, worked as my assistant at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest for several years after his graduations. He taught in my place while I performed concerts abroad, and when I returned, I was very pleased with the technical and musical development of my students as a result of his teaching.
Zoltan is a good pedagogue, his knowledge of the musical repertoire is excellent, and he has vast performing experience.
Through his own playing, Zoltán can clearly demonstrate the repertoire being played by his students.

I was really happy to have violin lessons from Zoltan, who has great in-depth experience and an insight into music, as well as making music. As a teacher, Zoltan has a very clear ability to see to the heart of the matter and help musicians, as well as leading students musically and technically over style boundaries. Zoltan works warm-heartedly with music, which is the essence of a strong presence of everything. Marianne Maans / Folk musician / Turku, Finland

I started playing the violin 30 years ago when I was 25 years old. I was probably more interested in playing folk music then than etudes and technical training. This led to a solid folk music repertoire and a poor violin technique. Sometime in the 1990s, I took private tuition in classical violin for over a year, but did not make much progress with the teachers I had. I have known Zoltan Takacs since the early 2000s, and we have done many things together. When I realised my voice production was abysmal, I had my first violin lesson with Zoltan. He made sense of my voice production in a few minutes, something that many other teachers had failed in all those years. Anders Backman
